Our
Approach

At CHIN, our approach to development is rooted in a comprehensive and sustainable framework that ensures lasting impact across all our programs. Our sustainability approach ensures that the benefits of our interventions endure well beyond the funding period, creating long-term positive change. We are committed to gender equality and prioritize the female gender, ensuring women and girls have greater access to opportunities.

Central to all that CHIN does is its commitment to Disability Inclusive Development (DID). SSHJM believes all people, regardless of disability, gender, race, or socio-economic status deserve the right to flourish in life, to live a full and contented life, whereby one’s potential can be realised. SSHJM’s approach to disability inclusion is twin track; SSHJM recognises the need to mainstream disability in regular development projects, while also designing special development projects targeting people with disabilities. SSHJM promotes equal access to opportunities and outcomes for all people with disabilities.

The SSHJM missionary development programme takes its inspiration from its Charism and Christian values, ethos, and approaches. Core principles and concepts such as human dignity, social justice, option for the poor, solidarity, subsidiarity, and care for creation are fundamental to the way in which SSHJM projects are designed and implemented for the benefit of the poor, vulnerable and marginalised. SSHJM reach extremely marginalized communities, focusing on compassionate service and care.

In addition, through a collaborative approach, we work in partnership with various development stakeholders, enabling us to deliver holistic, complementary solutions that address complex challenges in our communities.
